Breakfast lunch and dinner
If you are breast-feeding, you will not have problems with what the baby will eat on the road. Just take care of yourself and don’t eat foods that can cause your child’s digestive upset. If the baby is breast-fed, you can easily prepare the milk mixture or baby porridge with a mug of hot water on hand. There is always boiling water on the train and plane, and if you travel by car, take a thermos or a special heater for baby bottles with you. Dip a bottle of hot water in a mug of hot water, and when the water is warm, dilute the milk mixture or porridge. In addition, all kinds of jars with baby food will serve you well on the road. Do not worry if the kid’s menu will be like an astronaut’s breakfast, because this is not for long.
If your child has already switched to adult food, feed him his usual food, just follow some rules and restrictions:
– Do not overfeed the baby. On the road, travelers eat a lot just out of boredom. In order not to seduce the little one, try to limit yourself.
– Pack homemade preparations (fried chicken, boiled eggs, potatoes) in foil, in extreme cases in plain paper, but in no case in cellophane or plastic. Try to eat stocks faster (during the first hours from the start of the trip).
– Try to buy food on the road that can be stored for a long time at room temperature.
– Do not feed your baby with dairy products, raw vegetables and fruits.
And finally. Do not forget about hygiene. Even on the road, everything should be perfectly clean: bottles, nipples, dishes, and, of course, your baby’s hands and arms.
You can’t do without a pot.
A kid under five cannot and should not use a public toilet on the way. This is inconvenient, unhygienic, and besides, at the right time it can be closed or busy. After a diaper, a pot is the only alternative to the toilet. A few days before departure, prepare the baby for the fact that he will have to use the potty (for example, if he is already unaccustomed to it). The pot must have a lid (imagine how you will carry it out).
A little trick: you can avoid the problem of washing the pot if you put a sealed plastic bag inside (like in a trash can). Then it will be enough to close the pot with a lid, bring it to the toilet and, taking out the bag, get rid of the contents. You should not use toilet paper, because you will not have the opportunity to wash your baby soon. In this case, wet wipes will help you out.
We go to bed.
The kid (as well as his parents) will easily carry the road if he sleeps most of the time. Therefore, if possible, plan your trip mainly at night. Travel time will fly by, and it’s not so hot at night.
On the road, the child should sleep with the usual comfort for him. If you are traveling with a baby, bring a car seat, a cradle from a stroller or a large wicker basket with handles. In such a universal cradle, the child will be comfortable, moreover, it is convenient to carry. If the baby has already grown out of the cradle, arrange it comfortably in an adult place. Lay it on the bottom shelf in the train. To prevent it from falling off, pull the twine or sheet crosswise from the bottom to the top shelf. Try to sit on a shelf opposite so you can see him, and he will see you if he wakes up.
A little tip: do not put your baby on public linen. If you don’t have your own set, simply cover your entire bed with diapers. At night, the trains are very visible from the windows, so do not undress the child at all, put a cap or a scarf on his head, lay him with his legs to the window, and not vice versa. Many mothers prefer to sleep with the baby on the same shelf. Well, the child will be calmer this way, although you are unlikely to get enough sleep at the same time.
